Comprehensive Plan Kickoff Event

A brass band and a Pulitzer Prize winning speaker greeted almost 300 citizens of Union County to the Campus Theatre for the kickoff of "Cultivating Community" the Union County Comprehensive Plan. With a simple message of "Get involved." Thomas Hylton touched a nerve with the citizens in the audience and encouraged them to take an active role in developing "A Plan for Union County's Future".
As the first public event, the attendees were informed as to the nature of some of the issues facing the County and about how time is of the essence. "Change is inevitable, either you react to it, or you plan for it." said Hylton. With a review of the movement of people and the issues faced by Pennsylvanian's from the 1800s to today, the importance of a solid Comprehensive Plan cannot be understated.
The State, County and Local governments are all in support of "Cultivating Community" and the 18 month project is officially on the roll! Get on board and get involved!
